  • Tucked down a cobblestone street in the heart of the historic area of Philadelphia, Historic St. George's is quite the find! A friend first introduced me to the church, congregation, and Pastor Day and I was instantly charmed. I grew up in a smaller town and the church reminds me of the intimacy and spirit found in small churches in the suburbs/country. In that sense, I enjoyed the peace of the morning sun streaming into the church, which provided me with a sense of quiet that I needed to center myself in the midst of a stressful, hectic citylife existence.

Pastor Day made me feel instantly welcome. His warmth reflects in the congregants who represent the wide spectrum and diversity of Philadelphia residents. It's the kind of church where I feel like I could be a lifelong member or just drop in on a random Sunday and feel equally loved and spiritually supported.

The church itself is picturesque. The oldest Methodist church is a GORGEOUS setting for a wedding. I attended a wedding there last year and it is the perfect setting. A stunning church within walking distance of wedding reception sites and hotels. The church also has a pretty garden area for photos.

  • We love this Church, my husband Paul found it. Services are at 10 AM. Park free @ 4th and Vine in Camitta Brothers lot. All are welcome. Many visit due to museum and history.

  • I was drawn to this small church when I lived in Old City. Well, 3 years later I was walking down the aisle! Everyone raved about the church. So beautiful! It was a perfect setting. My husband and I love St. George's. Pastor Day is an awesome pastor who's sermons are very passionate and from the heart. The people at St. George's are friendly and fun. I feel very lucky to have found this church.
