  • But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭10‬‬

This was so incredibly disappointing. After reading the reviews, I was pretty excited to check it out. The place is a bit overwhelming but the people were very nice and helpful in guiding us to the nursery for our two youngest. Our oldest, who is almost four, is very shy and usually sits with us during the service. However, that is not allowed. If you somehow miss the signs on the doors (like we did in a hurry to find the nursery) you are literally banned from entering the sanctuary (the irony of that is not lost on me). They said there was a special room we could sit in with our son so we agreed to do that. It's actually a dimly lit gymnasium. The second we walked in I wanted to turn and leave. This is the room for the people that might disrupt the service. We eventually left because the sound was so hard to hear and quite frankly I couldn't believe that we had been put here. Others were clearly bothered as well. It was so strange and disheartening! On the way home I had a chance to look through the bulletin and there is a LONG paragraph on the dos and donts of the sanctuary. If you have to pee, you better tip toe out of there! And don't you dare return to your seat and risk someone being momentarily distracted. NO CHILDREN! Apparently they are toxic to the learning environment. Special needs? You better sit in the back and be quiet or go in Sunday school. My fellow believers, you have missed the point of church. In an attempt to make everything so organized and run like a well oiled machine, you missed the very point. Jesus said to bring the children to Him, not banish them to a dark, smelly gym. And sadly, I never even got to hear what the Pastor was actually saying.

  • Very welcoming people there. Pastor Joe is an amazing Pastor and when he reads from the Bible he explains in detail and breaks down what is going on and what is happening! Big and beautiful Church as well!

  • So happy my wife got me going to church. I don't think I was expecting how CC was. I didn't know at the time that all churches aren't like Catholic. I am so grateful for CC and pastor Joe. I along with my wife (Devon) will never leave Calvary. If you were like I "was" and are hesitant, just go one day and you are sure to be back. I didn't understand much from the Bible until Calvary, plus pastor Joe has a great way of teaching & putting it into daily life. This is our escape from all evil and my wife is always her happiest and in peace more than ever when I look over to her. I am so blessed to have given this a chance 7 years ago when she begged me to join her. So grateful I did! Don't judge until you have gone. "come as you are"

  • I've been going there since the late 80s. I've learned so much about the Bible and my faith had been so depended. Pastor Joe is a great speaker and the worship music is wonderful.
